Lyn’s Toasted Nutty Granola
Melt all together in a large baking pan (oven around 160 Celsius)
½ cup brown sugar
½ - 1 cup oil (I use canola)
3 - 4 large tablespoons of honey
Then add to this:
1 kg wholegrain oats
1 cup wheat germ
1 cup wheat bran
1 cup sunflower seeds
1 cup pumpkin seeds
1 cup shredded coconut
& also the following - chopped up 'chunky' or as you like it …
1 cup cashew nuts
1 cup brazil nuts
1 cup almonds
1 cup hazel nuts
Bake for around 30-40 mins, stirring every 10 mins or so, until 'coloured up'! When cool, add:
2 - 3 cups cornflakes
1 cup chopped dried apricots
1 cup sultanas
1 cup raisins
1 cup chopped dried cranberries
or your own dried fruit preferences!
