Walk the lakeside track to Rippon Vineyard (45 minutes from the lodge) and enjoy the spectacular view across to little Ruby Island. They held Cabarets on this island during the 1930's. Perhaps continue on a little further to Waterfall Creek.

Walk to the War Memorial Lookout, just behind the lodge, for great views of the township, the bay & mountains – morning is best, with the sun behind you!
Grab the bikes and choose your easy or hard trail
Have a swim in the lake at a secluded beach
Walk (or bike) the flat & easy waterside tracks either side of Roys Bay
Feed the ducks down at the waterfront – there are eels there too, off the jetty!
Tackle the 3 hr Rob Roy Glacier walk to a hanging glacier in the Mt Aspiring National Park (please don’t share your lunch with the Keas!)
Walk Mt Iron - stunning 360 degree views - who needs a gym! (1 ½ hr circuit)
Walk the Outlet Track alongside world famous trout fishing waters
`People-watch’ from one of the many cafes & bars
Enjoy fish & chips on the beach
Drive to the head of the lake (1 hr) & enjoy a short walk (30 mins return) through beech forest in the National Park to the popular Blue Pools, where there are often large trout to be seen
Walk one of Rocky Mountain’s three walk options (1.5, 2 or 3 hrs) for stunning panoramas from the lower end of the lake
Walk the river track that links Lake Hawea to Albert Town & Lake Wanaka (3-4 hrs)
Tackle Mt Roy (5-6 hrs, 1500+ metres) for the optimum view of our landscape. Not for the casual stroller!
Take our bikes to Sticky Forest
Wander through Wanaka Station Park on the western side of our bay – a beautiful picnic spot
Thursday’s, late afternoon, is for the Farmers Market at Pembroke Park in the summer (Spencer Mall in the winter)
