Since opening in 2000, we have been privileged to host honeymooners from around the world. Wanaka's magnificent location amidst mountains & lakes forged by glacial forces, provide the perfect backdrop for a romantic holiday. Newlyweds can share exhilarating adventures with the abundance of outdoor adventure activities on offer. Wanaka's ideal location at the heart of New Zealand's Southern Lakes also gives a wealth of opportunities for unforgettable escapades: the Mt Aspiring National Park, Queenstown, Mt Cook, Milford Sound, Fox Glacier, the Central Otago wine region. Ski lovers will enjoy our proximity to four ski resorts - Treble Cone, Cardrona, Snow Farm and Snow Park.

MT ASPIRING HONEYMOON PACKAGE for two people - $1785

Book our 3 night Honeymoon package to start your romantic New Zealand love story. 

We have chosen to include a spectacular one hour helicopter scenic flight in to the Mt Aspiring National Park, part of Te Wahipounamu - Southwest New Zealand World Heritage Area.  At its heart is Mt Aspiring, the park's highest mountain at 3,027m and known to early Maori as 'Tititea' or 'Glistening Peak'.  You will fly up close to this majestic peak where you will see stunning ice blue glacial fields and snow covered vistas, with views across the Mt Aspiring National Park and up the Southern Alps towards Mt Cook. There will be a snow landing and time for you to photograph the stunning views.

You will stay in our Superior King Honeymoon Room, located in a quiet and private corner of our lodge which features:

Day 1 - Arrive Lake Wanaka
Arrive at Wanaka Springs Lodge (check in any time from 2.30pm.)

This afternoon enjoy a leisurely 3 minute stroll in to Wanaka's town centre. Check out the galleries & the eateries, and if time allows, walk along the shore of Lake Wanaka for some evening photo opportunities. Or perhaps just relax in our spa pool located in a secluded corner of our garden - with a glass of bubbles maybe - and soak up the magnificent mountain views. You've arrived!

Join us at the lodge at 6.00pm for aperitifs before enjoying one of Wanaka’s great restaurants for your evening meal.
 
 
Day 2 - Mt Aspiring National Park
After a scrummy breakfast, be sure to grab your camera before taking the short drive around the shores of Lake Wanaka to rendezvous with your helicopter at the entrance to the Mt Aspiring National Park, where your spectacular 1 hour scenic heli-flight starts from. You will fly up close to the majestic peak of Mt Aspiring and will see stunning ice blue glacial fields and snow covered vistas.  There will be a snow landing and your pilot is well practiced at taking your photo with the magnificent backdrop of Mt Aspiring.

After returning to the Lodge, enjoy the leisurely walk along the shores of Lake Wanaka to Rippon Vineyard, reputedly the most photographed vineyard in New Zealand!  Wander up through the vines to their tasting room and soak up magnificent views across the lake and mountains. Great wines, great cheeses and astounding views!

This evening join your hosts for aperitifs, before heading out for your evening meal.
 
Day 3 - Lake Wanaka at Leisure
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the Lodge.

You can enjoy a lazy or an action packed day in and around Lake Wanaka – walks, mountain biking, kayaking on the lake, quirky Puzzling World, a massage perhaps, shopping, cafes – or we can assist you with a booking on to any one of a number of great activities (not included in rate).

Skydiving perhaps?  Jet boating a braided river up the magnificent Matukituki Valley? A wine tour? Horse Riding? A 4 wheel drive high country tour? An eco lake cruise and island nature walk? Eco rafting? What about U-Fly - your fun chance to fly the plane! Canyoning? Your choice!

Come back to the lodge & relax in the spa! After aperitifs, we have two tickets to Cinema Paradiso for you - one of Lonely Planet Guides 'a "must-do" movie experience'. You can enjoy irresistible homemade icecream & hot cookies, or a meal & wine at intermission.
 
Day 4 -  Before you leave Wanaka
After the romance of the mountains, the beauty of the lake and some genuinely warm 'Kiwi hospitality', join us for a final breakfast before your later checkout time of 11.00am. You will be leaving us with our very best wishes for a very long & very happy life together!
